Info event: Join us for Left-Handers Day 2023

Since 1976, the International Left-Handers Day has been celebrated annually on August 13. Two years ago, on this very day, we founded the platform Linksgespielt. And this year we celebrate it once again with a left-handed music making and exchange meeting.

In the afternoon we will open the event for all interested people who want to learn more about left-handed music making and teaching or simply want to have a closer look at a left-handed instrument. Eight primarily professional musicians will be coming from all over Germany to share their experiences on playing and teaching left-handed music as well as their individual relearning processes. This is meant to be an open event where you can come and go at any time throughout the mentioned period.

We will focus on instruments in the classical range that are not as commonly found as left-handed versions yet. This year we will likely make music with violin, viola, cello, double bass, viola da gamba, flute, recorder, clarinet and electric piano.
